Being as I am not yet gainfully employed, I am spending my time taking care of the little things, such as opening a bank account here in LA, rearranging my room over and over again, moving furniture around the house, waiting for people to put in the cable, yesterday it was Internet, tomorrow someone is coming to fix a broken piece in the stove and someone is coming to make sure the green substance in the tile cracks in our pink "ladies room", not to be confused with our blue "men's room", is not mold. I wish I were kidding about the bathrooms, but alas I am not. Whoever previously owned this house or designed it must have been going for an old school, traditional vibe. It's a great apartment/house, don't get me wrong, it's just vintage, and some things seem to be dated. Soon enough we will put our 21st century spin on things and the house will be a mish mash of styles and decor pleasing to all generations. I've already begun by adding a 42'' plasma to our "den", which is fun because this will be the family/entertaining/lounging and chatting room, which is also decorated with stained wood panelling and looks like it came right out of a 70's real estate brochure. We're going to IKEA tonight to get some small items, bath mats, trash bins, etc. I am still waiting to hear back from every single person I've inquired about work, the "dream jobs", so to speak. However it's getting to the point where I will have to find a job to get a pay check so I can pay rent, bills, etc, until I do finally land the job I am desperately seeking, and that's OK. Until then, I have enough to keep me busy here in my new home, which I love very, very much. I also love my roommates Danny and Chelsey. Chelsey I have known since first grade and after reconnecting with her here in Cali, told me she and Danny needed a third person to live with, the rest is history. Danny is a singer/songwriter, writer, actor and gives guitar lessons (hopefully to me soon). He is truly a Renascence man, does it all. Danny and I get a long great, like brothers do, and Chelsey is the one who keeps me in line. She is organized, neat, a great chef and is also creative and fun. Danny has those same qualities. Living with these two can only mean good things for my development as an independent man. While I may not be doing what I'd like to be doing out here, well I'm not really doing anything just yet, I'm really happy about this place and my friends. I'm optimistic, maybe too much so, but so what, that everything will work out as long as I stay on top of my calls, emails, the usual harassing I enjoy so much. So, for now, that is all I have to report on, but tune in later in the week and I am sure I will have more to say, perhaps a movie critique, TV commentary, and something about the men coming to work in the house tomorrow, if anything interesting does occur. I'll talk to you all soon.
